Will my insurance cover the procedure?

Varicose vein therapies are covered by insurance. Even spider veins are occasionally covered.

How are the procedures Modern Vein & Laser Center offers different from surgery?

There are far more steps involved with conventional surgery. With the advanced technologies used at MVLC, there is no need for considerable preparation, general anesthesia, infection risks, pain, discomfort or lengthy recovery periods.

MVLC procedures are “minimally invasive”. That means any incisions to the targeted area are extremely small and won’t require stitches.

Recovery time is next to none. As soon as the procedure is complete, you’ll be up, walking and able to return to normal activity quickly.

Are lasers safe?

A laser is targeted light energy. This light energy is delivered directly to the targeted area, leaving surrounding tissue unaffected. Medical lasers have been used in a variety of disciplines over the years, proving their accuracy, effectiveness and safety.

How long after the procedure will I see the results?

Results are usually seen immediately.

How long will the results last?

You should experience no reoccurrence in the veins that have been treated. To obtain optimal aesthetic results, follow-up procedures may be desired.

What is the success rate of endovenous laser treatment?

The success rate is generally about 98% where the vein closes and within six weeks patients have relief of their heaviness, ache and discomfort.

I would like to have my veins treated, but I do not know if I have spider or varicose veins. How do you tell the difference?

We always recommend you come in for a free screening where our physicians will help determine what type of veins you have and what would be the best treatment plan for you.

Is sclerotherapy painful?

Sclerotherapy injections are performed with a very small gauge needle. The discomfort is most often likened to an ant bite.

Is the spider vein treatment safe? Are there any side effects?

Sclerotherapy is very safe and has very few rare side effects or complications. The only common side effects from the treatment are bruising and tenderness in the areas injected. We recommend that you wear medical grade compression hose after your treatment for one full day and during the waking hours for 7 days post treatment. This will keep the swelling/bruising at a minimum and help you achieve the best results.
